So, I took Thursday and Friday off from work to come to Heidelberg. The program I'm with (DAAD RISE) was holding a conference for all 300 of us doing the program to come together and meet and whatnot... Well, it officially started at 4 and I got there a little early so I walked around the University and came across this interesting building. Despite being called Mathematikon, it's actually just a bunch of grocery stores and the only thing relevant to mathematics in them were these two quotes which I found super amusing for some reason.![]() |
| This says the Universe is written in the language of math. |
![]() |
| This roughly says that Math is both the queen and maid in one. |
So, if you remember my post about the Ampelmensch, these guys are only supposed to be in East Germany while West Germany has normal looking people. For whatever reason, Heidelberg despite very much being in West Germany, kinda randomly had one of these lampposts with an Ampelmensch... but just one. Kinda weird stuff.
