An Experiment in People Observation

So, I had a lot of, "more on that later" in my previous posts, and here's the later. I'm in Germany doing research through an organization called DAAD which has all kinds of German-American exchanges. The program I did matches 300 college students from the US, Canada, and England with a lab in Germany and provides us with a living stipend. From the 7th to the 9th, we had a conference where we all met up since we're normally just in our respective cities. We had some boring speeches, a band playing for us, some research presentations, a tour of Heidelberg, and a hella lotta good food.

So blah blah, to the point now. I did random rooming for the conference and ended up meeting some really cool people. So, from left to right, meet Jerry, Jack, Me, and Dyuman! I'm pretty happy that, like me, they all were kinda just trying to meet new people and make friends. Overall, the conference felt like a weird halfway between college orientation and high school. Some people were open and ready to meet new people while others were very "this is my group, I'm sticking to them and that's it!" idk kinda a weird atmosphere. That being said, I did end up meeting a lot of cool people and making new friends, so really, things couldn't have gone much better :)

So, Germany has this weird obsession with Feta cheese in vegetarian dishes. So much so, that they just stuck a block of feta on top of a rice and vegetable dish. Don't get me wrong, it was delicious, albeit a little odd.

To the left, are strawberries and vanilla ice cream. So incredibly simple, yet so incredibly delicious. I'm a sucker for good food.
