Long boring post about education:
Alright so my third day of German school (it's seriously so weird coming back to school after having graduated). Honestly, I was only looking to the two hours of math today. Unfortunately...
Periods 1&2 - Physics: I was supposed to have math but something unknown happened with the teacher so I took physics. Unfortunately, I took the same physics class I'm gonna have on Wednesday by accident so I might just skip on Wednesday and join the math class then (that class is supposed to have a lot of the GAPP Germans). Anyways, physics was all planetary motion. It was weird how much the class accelerated from waves to planetary motion. Still physics 1 level, but that makes sense since it's a junior class.
Periods 3&4 - Chemistry: So, I find my way to the chemistry room, and guess who I find waiting outside as well? Jama! He seemed so quiet before but now he was really talkative (and also spoke completely in English with me), and in class he was always answering questions and contributing to the class discussion (class discussion is a big deal here). The class was also fantastic. I love chemistry and this class took like a basic chemistry equation and then went into a discussion on real world presence and processes and it was just beautiful. So much more depth and complexity than what we go into.
So, they have 20 minute breaks after 2nd and fourth period. I use this time to talk with other GAPPers.
Period 5 - English: FINALLY MY LANGUAGE. So, I make my way to English class and guess who's waiting outside English? Jama! At this point, we compare schedules and it turns out that he is in the math class that didn't happen today too. And we both have philosophy 7th, so that was pretty cool. English was supposed to be two periods but we have a mandatory 6th period Homeroom so I was only in English for one period. It was interesting... They were given a short story and told to memorize as much as they could in 25 minutes. Originally, I didn't have to do it but then the teachers like oh just try and see how much you can do. So i did like 12 lines in 7-8 minutes. Then the teacher is like, ok did anyone get past 12 lines? And only Jama raises his hand. Like wtf, I would not be able to do that with German or Hindi
Period 6 - Homeroom: boring
Period 7 - Philosophy: I didn't really understand anything...
Periods 8&9 - Free Periods: refer to other post
Periods 10&11 - Sport: so, I got to play soccer with a bunch of Germans that are all pretty good. It was fun playing, but as a goalie, the ball hit me in my thighs, shins, stomach, and crotch way too often...
